Systems Engineering
My overall academic expertise is industrial and systems engineering. During my bachelor's, I studied industrial engineering with a minor in statistics. I also concentrated my studies on human factors engineering and organizational science.

Created, managed, and am upgrading the complete customer process at LightGuide
That background has channeled directly into my professional experience primarily by being a leader in the development of the customer process at LightGuide. This process spans from initial customer inquiry all the way through product installation and any required customer service.
I am currently leading the implementation of an end-to-end software solution to streamline internal operations. This tech stack will be in a Salesforce environment, and will consolidate 12+ internal tools into 6. This project has been excellent to learn about how to structure organizations and the processes within. Moreover, actually leading the change has been a major component, as it affects around 75% of the employees very heavily. Below is the story of that project.
March 2018 - Kaizen Event
Another industrial engineer and I led a Kaizen, a type of continuous improvement event. In this case, it spanned three days and consisted of a cross-functional team of 10 people. Over those three days, we mapped out our current process as it existed today (it did not formally exist, which is why it took two days to map). Then, we created a new process that was more optimized, and more importantly, was documented for later review and reference.
2018-2021 - Improvement
Over the next three years, as an organization we continued to improve the recorded process. We realized unnecessary steps, how to automate non-value added work, and a litany of other lessons. A primary lesson I continue to learn about these systems is the balance between the repeatability that lends itself to business goals and the flexibility that fosters creativity and innovation.
2021 and on - Digital Evolution
In mid-2021 LightGuide raised Series B funding. Now that cash flow was less of a concern, we could spend money on digitizing our internal process. I am project lead on the internal tech overhaul of our process. Currently, each group has its own tech stack and tools that they use. In the future state, we will all be in a Salesforce-native environment in which marketing, sales, engineering, operations, and finance all look into and create one source of truth.
